TERMS OF USE

Climate CountUp is the public-facing name of an independent website operated by a United States–based sole proprietor. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site. Contact: michael@plenode.com.

The site is an educational and public-interest visualization. Values may be observed, reported, estimated, modeled, projected, rounded, delayed, or illustrative. Counters are mathematical estimates—not sensors, forecasts, guarantees, or official records. Nothing on the site is scientific, legal, financial, investment, medical, emergency, or policy advice. Verify important decisions against the linked primary sources.

The network uses pseudonymous identifiers to record completions, invitations, branches, optional countries, and aggregate activity. Counts may be delayed, corrected, removed, or affected by abuse prevention. Do not use a public sender label that impersonates another person, violates their privacy, or infringes rights. You are responsible for the people and channels with which you choose to share a link or card.

Do not automate false completions; manipulate counters; probe, overload, or disrupt the service; bypass security controls; introduce malicious code; scrape in a way that materially burdens the site; or use the service unlawfully. Access may be limited or blocked to protect the project and its users.

Any tip is voluntary and does not buy software, content, influence, preferential treatment, or continued availability. Tips support hosting, data, and maintenance and are not represented as charitable or tax-deductible contributions. Stripe processes payments. If a tip was duplicated, unauthorized, or made in error, email michael@plenode.com within 30 days; reasonable refund requests will be reviewed promptly, and applicable statutory rights are unaffected.

The Climate CountUp name, presentation, original text, graphics, and software are protected to the extent allowed by law. You may share unmodified public links and generated chain cards for personal, educational, journalistic, or social use with attribution. Underlying scientific information remains subject to its providers’ terms and licenses. Source credits do not imply provider sponsorship, approval, or endorsement. See Methods + Sources.

Links to scientific providers, Stripe, and other third parties are offered for convenience and verification. Their services, availability, content, security, and privacy practices are controlled by them, not Climate CountUp.

The site is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator disclaims warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted operation, and error-free availability. The service may change, pause, lose data, or end without notice.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; lost data, profits, opportunities, or goodwill; or reliance on site content. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
